Planning your move

Finding the right space for your business and planning your move may seem daunting - especially if it’s the first time you’ve embarked on such a project.

Knowing which type of property you need (e.g. office space / workshop) and size required is only the beginning – you also need to consider the location and available transport links and then ask yourself questions about how important common areas are to you and what standard of facilities you need.

Having decided on the type of property you need - it must be time to start your search?  Not quite!  You should consider the amount of money you want to spend on your move.  Also, calculate your budget including one off costs for items such as furniture and IT equipment as well as ongoing costs like rates and service charges.

Help is at hand! Through talking to new customers about their experiences of finding premises Workspace Group were told that it would have been very helpful to have a guide to take people through the process. In producing such a book, "The beginners’ guide to finding the right business space", Workspace Group identified some key pointers.
