Whitechapel Area Guide

London Bus near WhitechapelLocated 3.4 miles east of Charing Cross and is within the postcode E1. Whitechapel is a great choice for office space in London. With Bishopsgate close by, the area is in close proximity to the City’s financial district but still has a stronger emphasis on entertainment provisions than many inner City locations.

In future years Whitechapel will undergo extensive transport development. Phase 1 will reopen the closed East London line and extend it down to South Croydon. Phase 2 will involve completing a rail ring route around South London all the way to Clapham Junction. Whitechapel is also scheduled to be a stop on the high-speed Crossrail project, meaning its future transport links will be incredibly efficient.

This transport development is likely to be paired with urban regeneration making the area even more attractive to businesses, so now is a great time to buy office space in Whitechapel, before prices get pushed higher by the development agenda.

What businesses does Whitechapel suit?

Companies that have links to the financial sector will appreciate Whitechapel’s enviable location; it is bordered by Bishopsgate on the West which is in the heart of London’s financial district. Whitechapel is not too far away from London Liverpool Street station, so any companies that need mobility in London and around the South East may benefit from office space in the area. Whitechapel is also very close to Canary Wharf, so those involved in investment banking may want to consider seeing what’s available.

Shoreditch is nearby, which has a large concentration of web start ups and technology firms. If your company needs close proximity to Shoreditch but wants a greater choice of location or cannot afford the prices, office space in Whitechapel may be more appropriate.

Alternatively, Urban Bar (176 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1BJ) is a trendy, happening hotspot for the younger generation, offering themed music nights including “Turn off the Radio” which features live bands, singers and DJs. If you want to continue the party after hours, check out The Rhythm Factory (16-18 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EW), a small and intimate club that hosts themed music nights and combines a decent sized dance floor with comfortable leather seats.
