Going Out

Wandsworth has its fair share of notable pubs. The Old Sergeant (104 Garratt Lane, London, SW18 4DJ) has existed under the same name since 1785 and was later owned by Earl Spencer. It is a friendly ‘local’ pub, where the doors of the old coach-house can still be seen. The area also has some eclectic bars, such as the Lost Society (697 Wandsworth Road, London SW8 SJF), which is a unique venue housed in a former two-storey barn. It boasts friendly staff and a fantastic menu of bespoke cocktails.

Wandsworth Common is a beautiful public common covering 73 hectares, consisting of extensive sports pitches for football, rugby and rounders, a number of lakes and ponds, cycling routes, tennis courts and a pub in the grounds. It’s a great place to visit in the summer.
